Mediation - a better way to reach agreement in disputesMediation is a process in which the parties to a dispute meet with one or more third parties to discuss their differences and reach agreement. Mediators do not render decisions about the case, but rather assist the parties in making the necessary decisions.

Mediation – Playing a Neutral Role

As a trained mediator, Dan has a neutral role, facilitating settlement dialogue between parties. In family cases, lawyers are often not present, although each party may prepare with his or her own counsel for each agenda item of a particular day.  After a draft of the agreement is prepared, the parties are advised to have the the draft reviewed by counsel before signing.
